A Lovely Jubbly Blog

A Lovely Jubbly adventure...

Posted on

As you may or may not know, I started my business back in 2009 and have worked full time at it for the the last six years.  It started as a way of making money from my marketable skills in design and sewing, with a background in costume design and construction for film and theatre.

The business in it's initial form was 'Les Sacs Magique', a nod to a childhood TV show that seemed to capture the essence of the range of handbags that I was designing and making.  Three years later, with a range of fabric homewares, gifts, greetings cards, prints and a range of makeup, toiletry and wash bags, I began to take commissions for wedding invitations and stationery.  These sparked the idea of 'Lovely Jubbly Designs', which fully described the variety of quintessentially British products that I was designing and producing. The brand evolved quickly, focussing heavily on the makeup and washbags, wedding stationery and my own range of fabric designs, featuring the iconic 99 with a flake.

Over the last six years, the brand has developed into something I never expected, including being a partner on nothonthehighstreet.com and now the adventure continues with my latest venture, 'Lovely Jubbly Fabrics'.  A carefully curated range of the most exciting contemporary sewing, crafting, quilting and dressmaking fabrics from around the world altogether in one place, and including my very own range of fabric designs, as well as from Lewis and Irene, Makower, Cotton and Steel, Riley Blake, Michael Miller, Tula Pink, Amy Butler and many more.  I'm especially excited to have a range of TV, Film and Comic Book themed fabrics, including Star Wars fabric, Doctor Who fabric, Marvel fabric, DC fabric, Downton Abbey, The Walking Dead and many more.
